5 Tips for Running a Profitable Drop Shipping Business

0 评论
Drop shipping is a business arrangement between a retailer and a wholesale company. The drop ship wholesale company will take care of shipping, packaging and storage of goods. And the retailer will set his/her own prices for the products of the wholesaler and sell them on the net. When someone purchases an item, the retailer will pay the wholesaler and the wholesaler will ship the product to the customer.

The benefits of drop shipping are that the retailer needs not to spend money to buy stock from the wholesaler until a customer purchases an item and thus eliminating the need of product storage space and cash flow issue.

There a few things you must know and understand to ensure your drop shipping business are profitable. In this article, we will take a close look at these 5 important aspects to ensure you can start and operate a profitable drop ship business.

1) Product's market and profit margin
In order to make your drop shipping business as profit as possible, you need to find a product that has a good market and be able to sell at a price level that will cover your cost and bring you profit. So market demand and profit margin are 2 important factors that have direct impact to your drop ship business profitability:

Market demand - you need to find a product or a range of products that already have an existing group of people wanting to buy them. Your market need to be large enough so that you can sell many quantities consistently for long term profit.

Profit margin of each product - The product you are selling will provide you a good mark up in order to make your business truly profitable.

Besides that, you need to identify what competition you have. Find out how much your competitors are charging for similar product. You may need to lower your profit margin to survive in the market.

2) Your decision on what product to sell
When you just begin selling products supplied by your drop ship wholesaler, it is advised that you only pick a few products to sell. Also that those that you have chosen are related, or can be targeted and sold to the same market set. It is important that you don't sell every product you see in the wholesaler's product catalogue. This is to avoid losing concentration and to keep your cost down to minimum. And also you'll have more time focus on marketing to generate sales.

3) The reliability of your drop ship company
Drop shipping has become quite popular. There are many drop ship companies nowadays but not every one of them can be trusted. Over the recent years there have been many scams appeared in this particular industry. Avoid those people who offer to sell your a list of drop shipping companies details for a price about one hundred dollar. Unfortunately, many of these are middle men who portray themselves as drop shippers, and will then charge you much more than you actually need to be paying.

But, don't let these scams frighten and discourage you. Because there are still a lot of reliable drop ship companies you can use for your business. I have compiled a free list of real drop ship companies that you can deal with. You may access the list here.

4) Order and delivery
Some unexpected problems associated with back orders and returns may occur to your business. There will be situations where you find that an item that has been ordered by your customer is not in stock and so there will be a delay in shipping the item which leads to customer dissatisfaction. Thus, you need to discuss these matters with your wholesaler company to work out possible solutions to these matters. This will then provide you with answers that you can provide to your customer if such a situation happens.

5) Business license and trust seals
Since you are running a real online business that sell physical products to people, you are responsible to register your business with your county clerk. It is also necessary that you register with the Tax office so that you get a Tax ID to run your business smoothly and be prepared to file taxes annually. Be honest when dealing with customer and do not spam when marketing your business and products. Make your e-commerce site look professional and pay some money to get the "trusted seals" from websites like bbbonline.org and truste.org added on your site. Customers are more likely to buy from you if they see these "trusted seals" on your site as these seals will make them feel more secure and confident to make payment.

As long as you begin your business with an expectation that your business will be generating decent profit for you, then the chances are that you will automatically see an increase in this.

3 Secrets for Creating a Successful Newsletter that will Bring You a Nice Online Profit (Part 1)

0 评论
Creating a successful newsletters, like everything else, has a formula for success. If you don't follow it, your newsletter probably will be just another newsletter that your subscribers will hit the "Delete" button and send it to their mailbox trash. However if you follow the same formula that other highly successful newsletters are using, your subscribers will read your every newsletter issue, love it, and even recommend it to their friends.

So would you like to discover the top 3 secrets of this formula to make your newsletter highly successful?

Then let's get started...

Secret 1 - Give Your Newsletter a Shining Personality

When I compared different highly successful newsletters in different topics, I found a similar very interesting trait in all of them…

Having a personality.

So what does it mean?

It means the author makes his newsletter unique by letting his personality shine through his every word in his newsletter. You see, we are humans and it's a proven fact that people are interested in people. We don't like to read a faceless newsletter who we can't feel a connection with – like a robot has written it.

We want to feel there has been a real person just like ourselves behind the keyboard typing those words. We want to feel we know that person.

How Can You Give a Personal Voice to Your Newsletter?

That's not difficult. Here are some ideas...

Include a section at the beginning of your newsletter called "Editor's Notes". It's where you always get a chance to say "hi" and talk to your subscribers from a more personal level. Here are some other creative names for this section that I've heard...
(For example the editor's name is Mike)

• Greetings from Mike

• Mike's Friendly Corner

• Coffee Break

• Mike's Ramblings

• On The Personal Note

The list can go on and on.

Another good idea is to include your photo in your newsletter. You can just include a small photo of yourself in the Editor's Notes section. (Of course you'll need to have an HTML newsletter to be able to include pictures.)

Also you can talk about some recent things that are happening in your life. For example if it's near Christmas, let your readers know what your plans are for the holidays. In the upcoming weeks before Christmas, tell you readers what you're going to do.

Secret 2 - Provide Helpful Content that Your Readers Want
Want to have a newsletter with thousands of fans and loyal readers?

Then simply give your readers helpful information that they want.

What does it mean?

It's simple. Everybody knows you should offer helpful content in your newsletter.

But what few people pay attention to, is giving their readers what really want. Because not every helpful information is what your readers want. Let's say you publish a newsletter about cars. You keep including information and pictures for Mercedes Benz in issue after issue.
The information and pictures are really cool and useful. So you think your readers love it.

But without you knowing this, there is a problem with that…

85% of your readers are interested in Ferrari – and not even a bit interested about Mercedes Benz. So imagine how frustrating it is for them to hear all about Mercedes Benz in your newsletter week after week.

See the problem here?

That's why you should not only provide helpful content, but also the information that your readers really want. Otherwise, it will be like giving very valuable information about growing a coconut tree to Eskimos. Your information is still very helpful – but not to your readers.

Most newsletter publishers give their readers what they think their readers want… which is by the way 80% not right. So How can you discover what your readers really want?

Simply ask them!

Yes, you can run a simple and easy survey from your list and ask them what they want to find most in your newsletter. You'll be surprised about the responses. You can simply create your survey outline by email and send it to your list and ask them to reply back, or if you want to look more professional and get more response, you can simply use SurveyMonkey. It's a great survey service that I have personally used and have seen other big newsletter publishers use too. So find out what your readers most like to hear about, and then give it to them. Then I promise you will have a big list of fans and loyal happy readers behind you.

Now let's get to the last newsletter success secret.

Secret 3 - Use a Professional, Reader Friendly Newsletter Design
I still can't believe how many honest, hard-working newsletter publishers spend hours on writing and preparing each issue and still kill their efforts and results by using a poor newsletter design for their newsletter.

It's like you spend years of your life writing an awesome book and then when it comes to choosing a cover for it, you use a very cheap and low-quality paper and write the book title in handwriting on its cover.

Wouldn't it be insane?

Still, some people do the same with their newsletter. Even if the newsletter content is very helpful, people won't still read it because they are turned off by the low quality and cheap looking design so much that assume the content will be as bad as the design. Or maybe the design is so bad that hurts their eye to read the articles – like too small text or a cluttered look that confuses them which part is where.

So what about you?
Is your newsletter design really professional? Or maybe it is killing your newsletter readership...
You can read this article and learn 3 ways to easily get a professional design for your newsletter that your readers will love. You will find this article an eye-opener.

Final Thoughts
So now you know the top 3 secrets to have your own highly successful newsletter...

1. Give Your Newsletter a Personal Voice
2. Provide Helpful Content that Your Readers want
3. Use a Professional Design for Your Newsletter

So now you are armed with powerful information that can help you transform your newsletter success.

6 Website Mistakes You must Avoid when Making Money Online

1 评论
Have you ever heard from website owners that their websites getting thousands of visitors every day but making only a few buck daily? Something must be no right to their websites. They must have made some sort of website mistakes or they will not make that little with the massive number of visitors they get daily. I'm sure you don't want to become one of them that have spent a hard time on generating traffic but only earning little from the large amount of traffic they generated.

To make you money making website work, you must properly optimize your site and avoid making mistakes in your website. Speaking about website mistakes, below are some of mistakes you must avoid:

1) Too many outdated content - You should remove information and content that already outdated or no longer useful to your site visitors. And update your website when you have found latest information that your visitors like to read and know. Both, the search engines and visitors like fresh content. So you should consider publishing new quality articles on an ongoing basis. Publishing fresh and quality articles not only will help in keeping your traffic growing but also will increase your pay-per-click (PPC) advertising revenue as PPC ads work best with quality content.

2) JavaScript pop ups- A JavaScript pop up is a notification window that automatically opens when you visit a website that states and message ; and has an “ok” button at the end. This was very popular during the website boom, but quickly become a no-no because JavaScript pop up is annoying to many visitors and it has been over used by webmasters. Usually these pop ups aren't seen as important by the visitors. In most cases these pop ups do nothing but disturbing visitors thus easily annoying them. However, if you have a message that need to display to your visitors before they can go further on your website, then a JavaScript pop up may still be a good idea, but I strongly caution you to not overuse it, if you use it at all.

3) Too many graphics and pictures - Adding too many graphics and photos to your site can lower your website loading speed. Visitors don't like to wait too long to get into a site, many of them will choose to leave your site and look for another. Also a percentage of web visitors are still in dial-up connection, which means they will have trouble downloading websites that have large number of graphics. Unless your website is in flash, I would try to avoid using any type of animated graphic, since they typically have large file sizes.

4) Using heavy, high contracting colors- High contracting colors would grab the visitors attention but they can also hurt the users eyes, making them uncomfortable and swaying them away from the website. So you need to limit the use of high contracting colors. Areas that you shouldn't use these colors are your website background, the text areas and the navigation sidebar. For title and headline, using high contracting colors is a good idea to get your visitors attention.

5) Clutter up pages - If your website seems be cluttered visitors will be less likely to view further into your website, especially if they think they will have to weed out the information they need from the information that is useless to them. You do not want to have too much information and content in each page, and you don't want more then one topic on each. A good navigation system will eliminate any problem you have.

6) Too many ads appear on your site - Users usually visit website for information and not ads, so a website that has more ads than content will definitely drive people away. Visitors do not want to have to weed though the ads to find the content that they are looking for. You need to maintain a balance between ads and content that show on on your site. The irony of the situation is: A visitor is more likely to click on an advertisement link if they do not feel that they are being bombarded by them. This is defiantly a situation where the saying “less is more” is true.
